First Indian and 79th in the world to circumnavigate the world solo, non- stop and unassisted, Abhilash Tomy was the only Indian entrant in Golden Globe Race 2018 and wants to finish the race he started and seeks your help and generosity to do it.
The Golden Globe Race - a solo, non stop race around the world where one is required to race using the technology available during 1968. It was an era where no electronics, communication or navigation devices had yet been invented. Sailors would depend on a sextant, a compass, the heavenly bodies, and a boat, battling their way through the oceans.
In 2018, Cdr Abhilash Tomy suffered multiple spine fractures and was debilitated all alone in a boat for days. It took a massive rescue effort orchestrated by four nations and 17 days to take him from the Southern Ocean and to a hospital.
